Why does my printer stop working?
The software counter
Epson printers have a software counter that tracks estimated ink waste. When it reaches a threshold, the printer refuses to print — even though it's physically fine. This is a software lock, not a hardware problem.
Your right to repair
Under the EU Right to Repair Directive (2024/1799), you have the legal right to reset this counter. In 2025, Epson was fined $900 million in the US for these very practices. The EU Right to Repair Directive (2024/1799) explicitly protects your right to fix your own devices.
Free trial reset
Try a real reset on your printer — reduce the waste ink counter by 10%, for free. One trial per printer. No credit card required.
The free trial performs a real partial reset on your printer. You can verify the result directly on the printer display.
One free trial per printer. For a full reset to 0%, purchase a key starting at €4.99.

Some newer Epson firmware versions block SNMP access. Our tool detects this before you purchase. If your firmware is blocked, you will not be charged.

Yes. Under the EU Right to Repair Directive (2024/1799), consumers have the right to repair their own products. Resetting a software counter is not circumventing copy protection — it is a legitimate repair action. Epson themselves were fined $900M in the US in 2025 for these practices.
